Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery in Bala Cynwyd, PA

What Is Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery?

Cosmetic eyelid surgery (otherwise known as blepharoplasty) gives youthful contours to the skin and provides fat in the eyelid to rejuvenate the appearance of the eye. It is a highly-customized procedure that can address cosmetic problems of the upper eyelids or lower eyelids, including under-eye bags.

Cosmetic eyelid surgery is often performed under twilight sleep anesthesia with the use of a laser, which allows for more precise results.

At the offices of Drs. Cohen and Swartz, we use a CO2 laser to contour the eyelids, which offers the most precise results and the quickest recuperation time. All surgeries are performed at surgical centers near our Bala Cynwyd, PA or Voorhees, NJ offices. Most patients resume normal activities one week after the procedure.

When Is Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery Necessary?

Not every patient needs to have surgery to feel more confident. We always look for customized noninvasive procedures as options for all of our patients.

The eyes are the first thing someone sees when they look at you, so it’s essential that any procedure yields natural results. Our goal with every treatment is to make the patient look and feel better, without making them look like they’ve had a procedure at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long is the Recovery Time?

In our surgeries, we use CO2 lasers which offer patients a quick recovery. Most patients can resume their normal activities about a week after their procedure, however, the recovery time is different for every patient. To learn more about the post-surgery recovery process, read out blog, “Post Eyelid Surgery FAQs”.

Do you perform eyelid resurfacing?

We do! We perform laser skin resurfacing all over the face, as well as around the eyes. It is one of the most effective treatments for texture problems, including deep-set wrinkles. To learn more about this non-surgical procedure, please go to our Laser Skin Resurfacing page.

Do you perform double eyelid surgery?

Yes, we perform double eyelid surgery. For more information, please schedule a consultation to discuss which treatment is right for you.

What’s the best treatment for hooded eyes?

With hooded eyes, the excess skin and/or fat can be removed by blepharoplasty, or upper eyelid surgery. This is a very customizable procedure and the actual procedure depends on the severity of the individual's eyes.

How do I know if fillers are enough or if I need surgery?

Dermal Fillers are great for smoothing lines and wrinkles, restoring facial volume and more. Eyelid surgery, generally speaking, is for cases where the skin is a little more aged and needs a little more TLC. If you are considering either procedure, a consultation with Dr. Cohen and Dr. Swartz will further explain the difference and suggest a course of action that is right for you.

Eye bags removed! – Bala Cynwyd, PA

Excellent experience from start to finish. To get my eye bags removed, I wanted a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon who had top-notch experience but was also friendly. Dr. Cohen is exactly that. At the first consultation, Dr. Cohen explained the procedure in detail and patiently answered the many questions I asked. The day before the surgery, he called me to address any concerns I had. I don't know any other surgeons who would take the time to do that, especially on a Sunday. It is now 6 weeks later, and the surgery was a success. I felt fine by the evening, had no bruising and had swelling only once, a couple of weeks afterwards. I look refreshed and not at all like I had work done. His staff is super. Brittany and Kristen were so nice and on the ball with all the paperwork, and Jen called me several times when I had post-surgery swelling to make sure I was doing all right. They made me feel special and not like just another patient getting a procedure. That means a lot. If you are looking to get your eyes done, look no further. Dr. Cohen is the best.
